June 18th: “When I Draw a Panda”
When someone tells you to draw something, maybe sometimes it looks like something else or it isn’t very perfect. But that is okay! Making art means using your own ideas and creativity!
In this class, students will create a panda bear using templates and original designs. For the background, students will be invited to think outside of the box and create a fun and unique background of their choosing! Maybe your panda will be surrounded by ice cream cones, clouds, lions, butterflies, a castle, or even superheroes! Whatever you can dream up! Students will use colored pencils and chalk to make their ideas come to life and finish the project with a paper frame.

On mixed media paper, students will use watercolor paint to create a lovely outdoor scene. A brown paper bag will be used to create Buffalo’s face and fluffy fur accented with white oil pastel curls. His eyes will be created using sharpies on white cardstock and his horns on tan cardstock, and Buffalo Fluffalo will be brought to life!

Owl always wanted to be a knight, but was he brave enough or clever enough to outsmart danger? Yes, he was! And, in the end, he gained a new friend too!
